Hot & Spicy Takeaway Dishes

The weather is getting colder, so there’s nothing better than curling up inside with a nice, warm meal. It’s even better if that nice, warm meal is delivered straight to your door because who has time to cook these days? There are plenty of “comfort food” takeaway options available but the very best thing on a cold day is a hot and spicy meal! Here are our favourite hot and spicy takeaway dishes, guaranteed to warm your taste buds, your bellies and your hearts.

Thai – Jungle Curry

Thai curries are among the most flavourful Thai food takeaway meals available, and each style is different from the others. On the tame end is the mild and creamy yellow curry, while those looking for a spicy option should go for a red curry or our personal favourite – jungle curry. Jungle curry doesn’t contain coconut milk and is the spiciest of all Thai curries. We love the jungle curry from Baan Thai in Stockwell, but there are several other Thai takeaway restaurants online that offer this delicious and spicy option.

Chinese – Kung Pao

Kung Pao Chicken is our all-time favourite spicy Chinese food takeaway dish. A classic Chinese dish consisting of chicken stir-fried with onions, peanuts, chillies and peppers, Kung Pao Chicken is simple, spicy, and makes great leftovers. The level of spice can very from medium to face-melting, so be sure to specify when you order if you can’t take the heat. We love the Kung Pao Chicken from Dragon East in Northern London, but there are many other Chinese food takeaway restaurants in London and we can guarantee you that 99% of them will have this classic dish on the menu.

Indian – Phall Curry

The most popular spicy Indian food dish may be Vindaloo, but the truly courageous know that Phall Curry makes Vindaloo seem mild by comparison. This tomato-based curry may look harmless but it’s filled to the brim with spicy peppers that make phall the hottest curry available in many Indian restaurants. It’s probably a good idea to eat it in your own home to avoid the embarassment of crying in public, so we recommend ordering a spicy phall curry from one of the many Indian takeaway restaurants in London. We love the phall lamb curry at Indian Greedy Cow – those are tears of joy, we swear.

Sushi – Spicy Tuna Roll

It may not be the most authentic option when it comes to sushi, but then again, ordering takeaway sushi online isn’t authentic either and we don’t plan on stopping any time soon! The spicy tuna roll is the perfect option for the cold fall weather, especially when dipped in soy sauce mixed with extra wasabi. Try the spicy tuna roll from Sushi London, or from one of the other takeaway sushi restaurants in your area!

Italian – Penne All’Arrabbiata

Italian food isn’t typically spicy, but pasta all’arrabbiata or “angry pasta” is an exception to the rule. Sometimes served with penne and sometimes with spaghetti, this spicy tomato-based sauce is packed with red chilli peppers and plenty of garlic for added flavour. Like many Italian dishes, it’s simple and that’s what makes it so good. Order a piping hot order of “angry pasta” online from one of the many Italian takeaway restaurants online, and enjoy the spicy pasta goodness.

Pizza – “Bombay Hot”

A variation of this fusion-style spicy pizza can be found at many different pizza takeaway restaurants in London, but it’s the one at Pizza 2 Night that captured our hearts. It’s a simple blend of jalapeño peppers, spicy and tender tandoori chicken and an extra helping of green chillies becausewhy not? So next time you are craving something cheesy, spicy and delicious, order an extra-large Bombay Hot pizza online and have it delivered straight to your door.
